Introducing Responsibly Sourced Structural Grade BS 5534 Roofing Batten
Roofing Batten is defined by the quality of the raw material, the manufacturing process and certification it holds. Responsibly Sourced Structural Grade BS 5534 Roofing Batten is known as RSB. RSB raw material comes from North Scandinavia, our current production is slow-grown KD White-wood Vth+ quality. RSB is both FSC® and
PEFC Certificated. RSB consists of only kiln dried sideboards, used to ensure stability and dimensional accuracy. RSB is standardised using laser planning to ensure consistency of size within set tolerances. RSB is graded to BS 5534, for which BM Certification. RSB is marked according to BS 5534:2014 showing supplier name, origin / species, grade (BS 5534) & size. We use Vacsol® Treatment and all documentation including handling guides are downloadable from every pack of Lokarr batten. Aside from the technological benefits of Smart Packaging, it also protects the product from the elements, reducing warping and bending by keeping the product dry. Alongside this it protects the product from weathering; protects merchants from the risks associated with unknowingly selling non-compliant BS 5534 product and ensures batten isn’t mixed from various sawmills, providing consistency.
Lastly, colour… The colour of Roofing Batten is actually pretty irrelevant. It’s everything listed above that really counts. So on that premise, RSB is available in both Blue and Yellow; you pick the colour and we’ll focus on everything else.
