WHO WE ARE
Lokarr was founded through collaboration. A group of industry leaders from across Europe with a passion for progress, working together to address the key issues facing the timber industry today.
Our founders have established a number of large distribution networks in the UK, supplying timber and roofing materials, alongside developing processing mills in the Nordics. Our founders were brought together in 2020 as a result of the supply chain issues caused by the impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic. As a collective we started to explore ways we could rethink the batten industry and drive growth by raising standards. Our pursuit of better products led to a holistic approach to the packaging and the role of technology. We looked to improve traceability and develop pricing models that provide stability through transparency. We decided to start Lokarr to challenge the status quo, to drive growth by raising standards.
The name Lokarr is a nod to the Baltic roots of our production. A Viking age term for wood plane.
